My Experience and Qualifications
Experienced therapist dedicated to supporting clients through compassionate and personalised counselling sessions.
Counsellor in Canterbury and Deal, and online counselling
As an integrative therapist, I tailor my approach to meet your individual needs, whether you’re seeing me in person or virtually. I create a warm, empathetic space where you can feel safe to share your thoughts and feelings. To ensure the highest standards of care, I meet with a supervisor every two weeks, which allows me to support you in an ethical and safe way.
Length of each session and frequency of Work Together:
Each session is 50 minutes for children, up to 60 minutes for teenagers and adults. I typically work with clients on a weekly basis, but I also offer flexibility for both weekly and monthly sessions. You can see me in person in Deal or Canterbury or connect online via the Teams platform, depending on what works best for you.
My approach
The Technical Part
I use a variety of techniques to help you stay present and connected with your thoughts and feelings. We will explore the mind-body connection because our bodies and emotions influence each other.
We'll also look at your past experiences and relationships, as they play a big role in shaping how we see ourselves today.
I use a variety of therapy modalities, including psychodynamic, transactional analysis, creative counselling and person-centred.
I’m here to support you at your pace, and we’ll only explore what you’re comfortable with every step of the way.
Experience
My background is in workplace mental health and bereavement. In addition to my private practice, I’ve worked in roles that have provided me with invaluable experience.
Helped adults, teenagers and children navigate bereavement with a national charity.
Addiction counselling in a specialist treatment centre.
In a school, I worked with parents to foster stronger family bonds.
Workplace counselling to help with challenges like stress and bullying.
Supported unpaid carers with a national charity.
I bring personal and professional experience in supporting neurodivergent individuals, ensuring a space where everyone can feel at ease and accepted.
Qualifications
From my experience, I believe that having a connection between us is vital, and it's important for you to feel that you can trust me. While my qualifications and training don't create that connection, they help me use my counselling skills safely and effectively. I’m always learning and updating my training based on the latest research to provide you with the best support possible.
